At last evening’s IU 8 Board meeting, Mr. Brian Bressler was honored and recognized for his dedication and service to the IU 8 community during his tenure as Board Vice President. Mr. Bressler will be greatly missed by our community. Thank you, Mr. Bressler for your service.

In partnership with PDE Office for Safe Schools, IU8 hosts one of eight Trauma-Informed Workgroups happening across the Commonwealth. Schools and community agencies inform the development and implementation of best practices in trauma-sensitive school approaches in Pennsylvania.

IU 8 “decks the halls” of it’s Executive Office with some fun, festive doors in anticipation of students to visit and enjoy later this month!

IU8 brings NASRO Basic SRO training to the region. School safety personnel completed 40 hours of training. Thank you Saint Francis University DiSepio Institute for Rural Health & Wellness for your hospitality and hosting us.

Over 70 District Leaders, School Psychologists, Social Workers, Higher Education Leaders, and Teachers connect across the Rural Ed. Ecosystem to examine and action a multi-phased process for adopting a school-wide trauma-sensitive approach.

Schools in Blair County unite over 1300 educators in their choice of 150 different professional learning sessions to connect, collaborate and create with one another!
